Our mission is to provide a core knowledge base to Mortgage Brokers and Financial Planners. Then - when they "take the leap" into the senior demographic, they will do so with enough basic information that they can correctly explain and apply the product.
Our goal is to train as many Mortgage Brokers and Financial Planners as possible.
Our Program has been approved by Florida as qualified Continuing Education Credit under Florida Statute 494. The full day Seminar counts as 8 units of Florida CEU.
"Understanding Reverse Mortgages"
"Evaluating and Explaining Benefits"
These are the basic "AWARENESS" Sessions that will introduce you to the niche and its most popular products. During this session you will learn about the senior demographic, its expectations of you, and the most common issues encountered by new originators. You will also learn the nuances of federal and state law regarding these programs and your unique responsibilities. Then, Nelson will take you through the numbers line by line so you understand how to evaluate and explain them to your clients. This is a three and a half hour session. Nelson will discuss everything from how to speak to seniors as you explain these products - to how the secondary market affects your income. Taught by expert Nelson Locke, with assistance from other faculty members.
"Taking a complete Reverse Mortgage Application"
You will need to know how to take a good application package - and these are specialized loans. During this one hour session your instructor will discuss the most important parts of a Reverse Mortgage package, what documents are the most critical up front, and which can cause processing delays. Submit your loans correctly the first time. It's not another 1003! Taught by Jean Marie Hearnshaw.
"Marketing to Seniors"
This one hour session will give you a frank and open contrast between the forward and reverse marketing paradigms. It should get you to thinking and start you on the road to planning an effective marketing campaign to launch your new product niche. Taught by Nelson Locke - don't miss this one.
"Counseling - the objective and the process"
This will be a one hour session. You will learn about the solid valid reasoning behind counseling and how it has developed over the years. The current situation regarding counseling fees will be discussed. When you send YOUR client to counseling, you need to know what to expect - because your customers need to be prepared. Success in this niche is defined by operating without any surprises. Taught by Charles Hearnshaw.
"Round Table - Questions from the Learners"
This one hour session will wrap up your day and give you access to the faculty as a group, where you can ask whatever is on your mind regarding reverse mortgages and the flow of the business. Moderated by Charles Hearnshaw, the participants include Nelson Locke, Larry Batch, Ginny Cooper and Jean Marie Hearnshaw. No question is off limits.
